Then there is the "I Found Her" project. Bunch of guys scripted a great demo of their game that they are making. Not sure if it will ever get finished. Here is the link to the forums on that game:

I played the demo campaign through and enjoyed it a great deal. A lot like wing commander in it's style. The storyline was good. You'll not that they are coming out with another prequel soon, but it will take some time. Typical programming trouble.

Try this one though - it is also free...and has been a long time in coming. They have been working on this for quite a while and it should be quite close to the show/movies.

Hopefully Machina Terra will be out soon, looks good. They're not giving away much, but they HAVE said that there will be some ships 4 times larger than Juggernaut class!

I go to play this single player but there is no campaign or mission to select? Do I need to d/l them separate?

Click Steels link in the post above and in the first post of the thread it takes you to there is a link that takes you to the campaigns and mission for this one.

Ok so I got the mission pack and I wanted to install it. Read the faq page and said to make a missions folder, then add the file to the missions folder. Did so but didn't do much. I go to the campaign page and still no missions available.

EDIT> ok I d/l a mission pack with it's own install exe but when I load up and try to access via campaign page, no joy. I also d/l the Earth membari campaign and that seems to work so far...any ideas why the mission pack is'nt working? Its not shown in the campaign page...no idea why.

Ok...so I decided to give this a try for the sake of it. Good looking game but nearly impossible to hit anything. I spent 2 and half hours shooting and missing. I try to line up my target reticle over the red circle, the one that obviously is where the enemy ship will be when my lasers reach them, NOT the vessel itself. Still, nothing. Anyone got any ideas, cuz the game looks fun but kinda pointless if I can't hit anything.

Another thing is unless I'm in burner, i can't seem to catch up to anything. I'll be 90 to 95 percent thrust but won't be able to pursue even my fellow star furies nevermind minbari fighters...wtf?

well i don't know much about the genre, but don't the minbari fighters and ships totally outclass the terrans?

as far as keeping up with the others, not sure.

i also found i could not hit squat when i played the demo missions...it was a very short campaign included with the initial release.

i might revisit it...time permitting.

Yeah I did some chatting on the TBP page and do recall from the series that the Terran vessels were no match for the Minbari. Been a while. I guess if we stay away from the TBP until we get better, then we'll be ok. Too bad, I really like flying in the B5 realm. star furies rock.

Ok found out that actually it's not the bab 5 mod it's just the minbari fighters. If you fighting against minbari, you're better off setting difficulty to very easy. Cheating? Not really..still very challenging at this setting because Membari fighters are "uber." Basically their small profile make them extremely difficult to hit, and they out class the star fury in almost every sense. Other missions played against other enemy can be played on normal difficulty. Bab 5 setting works really really well. Worth us playing in addition to playing FS2 in general.
